One Church Family: As you all know we are in the middle of a moment in our world that has caused great concern for some, but has presented us with an incredible opportunity as well. We continue to pray for wisdom for the days ahead and we ask you to do the same!

We have consulted with our city officials and we desire to demonstrate care for both you, our church family, and our community. Our hope is to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and do our part in caring for the vulnerable in our community.

In light of this, and based on several factors, we have made the decision to NOT meet in-person for Sunday Worship on March 22 & March 29, instead we will be live streaming our Service at 10:00am on our Facebook page. We will also be cancelling all "large gatherings“ on Wednesday March 25th.

(If you do not have facebook, you may still view the service. Please copy and past this link to your internet browser. https://www.facebook.com/onechurchelkcity/)

Our hope is that you will participate in your home, with a neighbor, or a small group. The services will be available on demand after they stream live, but we encourage you to be intentional and schedule this time just as you would on a Sunday morning.

There will also be an audio recording of the message that will be available on our website and app on Mondays.

---------------------------------------------------

We are not canceling "church." We are changing the way we will BE the Church during this period of time. By dispersing large gatherings, we are protecting more people, submitting to our authorities - (Romans 13) and helping our community to be able to return to normal rhythms sooner.

For those of you who are involved in a community group. Be in touch with your group and its leaders about ways to serve, ways to encourage one another and opportunities to be in God’s Word together in small groups.

We encourage you to continue to be a generous people during this time. The needs and opportunities to serve each other and our community will be great over the next few weeks and months! We ask that you do the same, if there are needs you are aware of.

Our decisions are not made out of fear in any way; rather, they are motivated by how we can best love our neighbors by preventing the spread of the virus unnecessarily. Take this opportunity to spread the message of hope in Jesus Christ with your neighbors and those who are closest to you.

We must remember that God has not called us to live in fear but in faith. As Paul says, 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God does not give us a Spirit of fear, but power, love, and self-discipline.” In the midst of all the world’s uncertainty their is great joy in Jesus. Thank you for being such a wonderful church. This is an opportunity to demonstrate our trust and remain hopeful!
